AWARDS

Portland Housing Authority was recognized with Preble Street’s Community Partner Award.

Jennie Soares, Preble Street’s resource center supervisor, was recognized with its Joseph D. Kreisler Community Impact Award.

Also recognized was Bob Harradon of Yarmouth, a longtime volunteer at Preble Street Soup Kitchens, who received the volunteer of the year award.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Preble Street elected a new slate of officers.

Renee Schwalberg, practice area deputy for policy, planning and evaluation at the Altarum Institute, was named president. Herb Janick, a partner with Sidley Austin LLP, was named vice-president. Terry Sutton, a senior vice president of business transformation at L.L. Bean, was elected secretary; and Charlie Roscoe, retired managing partner at Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, Certified Public Accountants, was elected treasurer.

The Rev. Ben Shambaugh, dean of St. Luke’s Cathedral, was recognized as Board Member of the Year for leadership and commitment to Preble Street’s mission. Maurice "Cito" Selinger, a partner at Curtis Thaxter, was honored as he stepped down from a three-year tenure as board president.
