Emergency Food Programs

FOOD PROGRAMS

Preble Street’s Food Programs is committed to providing the most nutritious, delicious, and balanced meals possible for people struggling with food insecurity in Maine. When basic needs like food and shelter are met, people are better able to focus on working toward other goals, including employment, permanent housing, and health.

The Preble Street Food Security Hub is a dynamic space to combat food insecurity through partnerships and collaboration — bringing more meals and grocery boxes to clients in need.

The Preble Street Food Pantry provides both fresh and non-perishable food to meet basic nutritional needs for 3 meals a day per person for 3 days.

Preble Street Soup Kitchens serve a variety of meal plans throughout the day, every day of the year to people of all ages — ranging from youth experiencing homelessness to elders and immigrant families struggling to maintain independence on a fixed income — for whom food is scarce.
